Aking Elting Signs National-Letter-Of-Intent To Play At DePaul
Aking Elting, a 5-10 guard who currently attends the
“Aking brings the type of speed, athleticism and quickness that we want in our program.” Leitao said. “With two years of junior college experience he will have knowledge that does benefit our younger players as well as the entire program.”
Elting was tabbed as the fifth-best junior college point guard in the nation by Lindy’s and the sixth-best by NBADraft.net. Last season as a freshman CSI, he recorded 92 assists with just 59 turnovers and helped the Golden Eagles to a 26-6 record.
A native of Elizbethtown, N.C., Elting was a star at East Bladen High School. He averaged 25 points and 12 assists as a senior. Elting was the Co-MVP (along with his brother Sakrid Dent) of the North Carolina Class AA State tournament in 2001 after leading East Bladen to the championship by scoring 22 points with five assists and three steals in title game. A four-year member of the varsity and three-year starter at point guard, Elting also led East Bladen to the Eastern Regional Finals in both his a sophomore and senior seasons.

Dorell Wright Signs National-Letter-Of-Intent To Play At DePaul
Dorell Wright, a 6-7 forward who is currently enrolled at
“Dorell possesses the athleticism, versatility and scoring ability that reminds me of the great wing players that I’ve had the privilege to coach over the years,” Leitao said. “I expect that he has the ability to make an immediate impact in our program.”
A native of Lawndale, Calif. and a graduate of Leuzinger High School, Wright was named the fourth-best player in the nation by The Hoopscoop, he was also tabbed as the 14th-best senior by Lindy’s and the 16th-best player by Hoopmasters.com. USA Today also selected him as the 19th-best senior in the country while The Sporting News listed him as the 51st-best senior. Athlon picked Wright as the third-best small forward in the country while RivalHoops.com picked him as the fourth-best small forward and the 38th-best senior in the nation. On November 15, Wright posted 53 points (on 25-37 field goal shooting) with 20 rebounds in South Kent’s win over Lafayette College.
A star at Leuzinger, Wright was named the Ocean League Player of the Year as a senior after averaging 29 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks per contest. He also averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per outing as a junior. Wright participated in USA Basketball’s Men’s Youth Development Festival last summer and led his team to the bronze medal by scoring 29 points in the bronze medal game.
