Softball Upsets No. 3 Nebraska

FULLERTON, Calif. – No.13 DePaul upset No. 3 Nebraska in a big way on Thursday as they pounced the Huskers 7-2 at the Kia Klassic. The Blue Demons (12-3) have beaten two of the top three teams in the nation within one week.
The Blue Demons controlled the entire game scoring runs in the third, sixth, and seventh innings, but it was two home runs that the Huskers could not recover from. The home-run hitting continued from their game against Fresno State as Christina Douglas hit a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning and Saskia Roberson hit her second home run of the day for another run.
The Blue Demons collected 12 hits to the Huskers four and notched six RBIs while holding Nebraska to just one.
Lindsay Chouinard pitched the win for the Blue Demons. She struck out eight batters in seven innings and walked no one. Chouinard also hit 2-for-4 and collected two RBIs.
Katy Kukman hit 3-for-4 and added four assists to the game.
The Blue Demons play next at 1 p.m. on Friday against Notre Dame.
