The Blue Demons improved to 4-2 while the Jaguars fell to 4-2.
“I am very proud of this team for the way they bounced back after Saturday’s game (a 63-53 loss at Bradley),” DePaul head coach Dave Leitao said. “To have 29 assists on 35 field goals is amazing. It shows what this team can accomplish when it shares the basketball.”
The Blue Demons’ 29 assists came with just nine turnovers and freshman Cliff Clinkscales handed out a game-high 12 assists (and only two turnovers) while Drake Diener (10 points) had seven assists and no turnovers.
Quemont Greer, who was named Conference USA’s Player of the Week earlier in the day, had 20 points as did classmate LeVar Seals (a career high) who was 5-6 from 3pt. range. Junior Marlon Brumfield had 10 rebounds for the victors.
IUPUI was led by Johnny Miller’s 17 points while Brandon Cole grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
DePaul, which shot .603 (35-58) from the field, controlled this game from the early stages with an 18-4 run in that jumped the lead to 22-7 nearly eight minutes into the contest. The lead grew to as much as 17 (27-10) with 9:36 left as the Blue Demons came out of the gate smoking and shot .552 (16-29) from the field in the opening half led by Greer’s 15 points.
The second stanza was much more of the same. After opening the half with a 10-point lead (39-29), the Blue Demons pushed the advantage to as much as 28 (70-42) with

Notes: DePaul’s 10 three-point field goals were tied for the most by a Blue Demon team in the Dave Leitao era… LeVar Seals’ five three-point field goals was tied for the sixth-best single-game performance in DePaul history and he is now one of 10 Blue Demon players to accomplish that feat… the .603 field goal percentage was the second-best performance of the Dave Leitao era at DePaul… tonight was the first time DePaul had two players score 20 or more points in the same game since the Blue Demons’ 82-69 win over Memphis on January 13.
