Softball Drops Two at Kia Klassic

FULLERTON, Calf.- The Blue Demon softball team dropped its opening games at the KIA Klassic. DePaul fell to No. 10 Louisiana-Lafayette 10-3 and in exhibition play lost to the U.S. Olympic Team 8-0 on Thursday evening at the Titan Softball Complex.
The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns’ bats combined for seven hits, including four home runs and capitalized on DePaul’s two errors to score 10 runs in Thursday’s first game.
DePaul freshman pitcher, Tracie Adix (0-4), started the game for the Blue Demons allowing six runs (just one earned) on five hits and striking out three in four innings. Senior Sarah Martz came in the game for relief in the bottom of the fifth and gave up four runs, on two hits and struck two in three innings of work.
The Blue Demons were led at the plate by seniors Christina Douglas and Martz. Both registered two hits and one RBI.
The Blue Demons faced the U.S. Olympic Team, Thursday evening in front of a sold out crowd. The Olympic Team is touring the nation in preparation for the 2004 summer Olympics in
