Blue Demons Perfect in Second Day of NFCA Leadoff Classic

Entering the bottom of the seventh, DePaul found itself down 3-2 to
Sophomore pitcher, Tracie Adix (4-2) recorded the win for the Blue Demons. The sophomore pitched eight innings and struck out eight Aztec batters. Celena Velasquez (5-1) registered the loss for
The Blue Demons registered eight hits in the first game, Dana Kenney, Roberson and Secka each recorded two hits against the Aztecs. Kate Sheaks was credited with DePaul’s other RBI.
DePaul pitcher, Megan Huitink threw a no-hitter against Florida Atlantic in the day’s second game. Huitink (2-6) struck out 12 of the 24 batters she faced.
The Blue Demons jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second innings. Kenney connected on a single to left which scored Secka from second.
Junior Sara Bandauski crossed the plate in the third inning on a Candice Freel pass ball. Freel (4-6) gave up four hits in seven innings.
