Men's Tennis Falls at No. 66 Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa The DePaul men’s tennis team suffered a 6-1 road loss to No. 66 Iowa on Sunday. Ben Hartman delivered a singles victory for the Blue Demons, but the Hawkeyes won the doubles point and five singles matches at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center.
Hartman picked up his 13th singles win of the dual season with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Patrick Dwyer in the No. 6 match. The Blue Demon freshman has won three consecutive matches after taking his first loss of the spring last weekend at Drake.
Junior Jose Moncada and freshman Bartosz Jozwiak gave DePaul (8-6, 2-0 BIG EAST) a victory at No. 2 doubles when they edged Greg Holm and Walker Grimes, 8-7. Iowa (6-2) took the other two doubles matches as junior Austin Doerner and sophomore Alasdair Graetz fell, 8-4, to J.P. Ritchie and Bart van Monsjou at No. 1, while freshman Adam Williams and Hartman dropped an 8-4 decision to Christian Bierich and Austen Krauss in the No. 3 spot.
DePaul stays home next weekend as Buffalo visits the Lakeshore Athletic Club on Friday, March 7. The Blue Demons challenge the Bulls at 6 p.m. (CST).
