No. 75 DePaul Welcomes the Broncos and the Red Birds

CHICAGO The No. 75 DePaul men’s tennis team returns to action after a nearly two-week hiatus. On Friday, February 20 the Blue Demons host Western Michigan at 6 p.m. (CST) followed by a 5 p.m. dual against Illinois State at the Lakeshore Athletic Club.
Leading the way for the team is newly-ranked doubles partners Austin Doerner and Ben Hartman. The duo has been holding down the No. 1 doubles spot all season long, and boasts a 7-1 record together. In the most recent rankings issued by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the pair was ranked at No. 41 in the nation.
Coach Matt Brothers and his squad have accumulated a 7-1 record so far this season, including a 5-2 victory over then-No. 43 Southern Methodist.
The Lakeshore Athletic Club is located at 1320 W. Fullerton and admission is free to all DePaul students and spectators. Don’t forget to show you school ID to earn your Blue Demon Rewards points. Noting the Blue Demons: The squad has opened their dual season with a combined singles record of 32-16 and a combined doubles record of 16-8... the Blue Demons have outscored opponents in team-play, 45-11... Austin Doerner and Ben Hartman received a ranking of No. 41 in the ITA doubles polls on Feb. 19, 2009... head coach Matt Brothers’ career record now stands at 23-11... DePaul's current winning streak at home stands at 14 dating back to the 2005-06 season...Bartosz Jozwiak and Jose Moncada currently lead the team with 13 singles-match wins... while Alasdair Graetz and Moncada have the most doubles-match wins with 11, Doerner and Hartman have the highest winning percentage (.875).
