Second Round Suspended at Weibring Intercollegiate

NORMAL, Ill. - The DePaul golf team was able to complete the first round before darkness suspended play of the second round on Saturday at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. The second round is scheduled to resume at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday followed by the third round.
The Weibring Golf Club's 18 holes played tough on Saturday as just one player posted an even-par round. Creighton's Austin Miller holds the individual lead after shooting a 72 in the first round. The remaining 92 players in the field played above par.
DePaul also found the first 18 holes tough as the Blue Demons are in 17th place out of 18 teams with a combined team score of 332 (+44). Ben Westley shot a 79 to finish in a group in 32nd while Russell Budd is tied for 68th with an 83 in round one.
Brad Stephens' round of 84 puts him in a group in 74th place while Charles Boucher and Maximilian Mayer are tied for 84th with scores of 86 in the first round.
Illinois sits atop the team leaderboard with a team score of 302 (+14) in round one and is five strokes ahead of second place Missouri State at 307 (+19).
The completion of round two and the third round is expected to be completed on Sunday starting at 8:45 a.m.
