Join the DePaul Women's Basketball Team on Selection Monday

Join the women's basketball team on Monday, Mar. 15 for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Special for the 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. Coach Doug Bruno and the women’s basketball team will be watching the selection show on ESPN on the big screen at 6 p.m. (CST) with doors opening at 5 p.m. at McGrath Arena. The selection show party includes food and admission is free. Parking is available for $6 next door to the Sullivan Athletic Center at the 2335 N. Sheffield parking facility. The Blue Demons (21-11) have made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances including seven consecutive dating back to 2003. DePaul is one of 14 programs to play in each of the last seven NCAA Tournaments.
DePaul finished the 2009-10 regular season in a tie for sixth place in the BIG EAST Conference. Led by second team All-BIG EAST performers Sam Quigley and Keisha Hampton the Blue Demons average 68.9 points per game. Hampton leads DePaul with 13.8 points per game while Quigley follows with 13.2. Katherine Harry was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman team after leading the Blue Demons 7.9 rebounds per game.
Selection Monday and ESPN's NCAA Championship Coverage Information
Trey Wingo will host ESPN's selection special alongside Kara Lawson and Carolyn Peck on the set, while Doris Burke and Rebecca Lobo will join in to further analyze the brackets. The exclusive presentation continues at 7 p.m. on ESPNU with NCAA Women's Basketball Selection Special: Extended Coverage as Wingo, Lawson, Peck, Burke and Lobo continue to focus on the brackets, with special attention paid to first-round matchups. The show will feature guests from around the world of women's basketball.
The two hours of programming will tip off ESPN's robust coverage of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship - all 63 games March 20-April 6 exclusively on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN360.com and ESPN FULL COURT. Meanwhile, ESPN will feature supplemental women's NCAA Championship content across its platforms, including ESPNU.com, SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, ESPNEWS, ESPN Mobile and ESPN.com.
On Tuesday, March 16, at 6 p.m. on ESPN, Wingo, Lawson and Peck will return for the NCAA Women's Basketball Bracket Special. The show will more closely examine the bracket seeds and matchups, with more interviews and reaction from the basketball community.
