Blue Demons Move Up Team Leaderboard

DADE CITY, Fla. - Through two rounds at the USF Invitational, the DePaul golf team sits in 15th place while Michael Furci is in a group tied for 30th. DePaul sat in 19th place out of 23 teams following the completion of the first round Saturday morning before moving up to 15th in the second round.
After shooting a 72 on day one, Furci shot a two-over 74 on Saturday to lead the DePaul contingent in a group in 30th place. Ben Westley came back from a 76 on Friday with the best round of the day on Saturday for a Blue Demon with an evan-par 72. Westley moved up the leaderboard into a tie for 42nd heading into the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Greg Doherty shot a 79 in the second round to go with his opening-round of 72 for a tie for 73rd while Russell Budd shot a 73 after starting the tournament with an 80 and finds himself tied for 90th. Charles Boucher improved by a stroke with a 77 on Saturday and is in a group at 101st after starting with a 78 in the first round. Erik Peterson, playing as an individual, is in a group in 109th with rounds of 80 and 78.
The Blue Demons have totaled 594 (+18) strokes over the first two rounds while Florida Southern is a combined seven-under with a team total of 569. Florida Southern's Matt Stauch holds a six-stroke lead heading into the final round with a two-day total of 133 (-11).
Sunday's schedule features the final 18 holes with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. ET.
