Mulchrone Pushes DePaul Past Reims in France Opener

REIMS, France - Maureen Mulchrone led DePaul with 19 points and 12 rebounds as the DePaul women's basketball team topped Reims, 75-70 on Tuesday. The Blue Demons are currently on a 10-day France trip and will play three more games before returning state side on Aug. 24.
Playing their first game since March, the Blue Demons found themselves down, 41-39 at half but rebounded behind the leadership of their upperclassman - Keisha Hampton, Sam Quigley and Mulchrone.
With five minutes to play, DePaul was down 60-57 before Hampton took control and scored all 10 of her points in the final minutes of action. Quigley complimented Hampton's shooting with an 8-for-10 effort at the free throw line including a pair in the final minutes to seal the victory. Quigley also dished out six assists and finished the game with 17 points.
Making her debut in a Blue Demon uniform, Jasmine Penny tallied 11 points to round out four DePaul players in double-figures. Mulchrone's 19 points and 12 rebounds are the most for the Blue Demon junior in her career.
DePaul returns to action on Wednesday against Le Havre at 12 p.m. (CST).
