Hampton Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

CHICAGO - DePaul junior forward Keisha Hampton was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll it was announced today. Connecticut's Maya Moore was named the league's Player of the Week, while Huskie freshman Bria Hartley earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Hampton earned her third Honor Roll selection after helping the Blue Demons (17-2, 5-0 BIG EAT) to a pair of conference wins last week.
In her two games last week, Hampton averaged 19.0 points and tallied 20 in DePaul's win at Villanova on Sunday. Her 20-point scoring performance was her sixth of the season and 13th of her career.
On the week, the junior from Philadelphia was 11-of-23 (.478) from the field and led the Blue Demons with five 3-pointers. She was nearly perfect from the free throw line, hitting 11 of her 12 shots.
Hampton averaged 7.0 rebounds per game last week and led DePaul with seven at Villanova. She added seven assists and boasted a 1.2 assist to turnover ratio last week.
DePaul, which moved up to No. 13 in this week's Associated Press Poll, breaks from conference action to host New Jersey Tech on Thursday, Jan. 20. Tip at McGrath Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m., while tickets can be purchased through the DePaul ticket office or any Ticketmaster location.
