Ackerhans Moves into Tie for Lead, Team Still Second

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Moritz Ackerhans carded his second straight score of 69 and moved into a tie for first place following Saturday's second round at the Spring Break Championship. As a team, the Blue Demons remain in second place.
Ackerhans sits in a tie with Michigan State's Chris Mory. Both players have posted back-to-back scores of 69 for a tournament total of 138 (-6). They are a stroke ahead of Ohio State's Michael Cress and Nathan Zutherland of Miami (Ohio).
Charles Boucher is tied for 17th with eight other players and Russell Budd is in a three-player group in 26th place. Boucher shot a 73 on Saturday to follow his round of 72 for a total of 145 (+1) and Budd put together a round of 75 after starting the tournament with a 71. He is a shot behind Boucher with a two-over par score of 146.
Ben Westley is a shot behind Budd and in a group of six players in 29th place. After opening the tournament with a 74, he tallied a score of 73 on Saturday for a tournament total of 147 (+3). Maximilian Mayer rounds of the DePaul contingent with a two-day total of 150 (+6) following scores of 76 and 74.
The final round at Gleneagles Country Club is scheduled for Sunday morning. The Blue Demons are looking to post their best team finish of the season while Ackerhans makes a bid for DePaul's first individual title of the year.
Ohio State holds a commanding lead on the team leaderboard by 16 shots over the second-place Blue Demons. Nebraska is in third place with DePaul holding a four-stroke advantage over the Cornhuskers.
