
Men's Tennis Stumbles at UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - Despite winning the doubles point, the No. 52 DePaul men's tennis team suffered a tough 4-3 loss at UCF on Saturday at the UCF Tennis Complex.
The Blue Demons won the doubles point, behind strong performances from the number two doubles team of George Chanturia and Matija Palinic and Ben Hartman and Filip Dzanko in the third spot.
Hartman and Dzanko were the first off the courts with an 8-4 win over Mitch Thams and Erik Brunskog. The victory is the pairs ninth of the season.
Chanturia and Palinic tallied their 15th win and secured the doubles point with 9-7 win over Eugene Dolgovykh and Matthew Zachary.
UCF quickly took the lead with victories in the sixth and third positions.
Hartman, who tallied DePaul's lone victory over No. 50 USF earlier in the week, tied the match at two with an impressive 6-2, 6-3 win on the fourth court.
With three matches still going, UCF took a 3-2 advantage before DePaul's Sven Kasper knotted the dual at three with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the top position. The win was Kasper's 10th in the number one spot this season.
UCF clinched the match with a three-set win on the fifth court.
DePaul returns to action and travels to Tennessee for a dual with Middle Tennessee State before participating in the Sun Belt Conference Shootout, April 1-3. All matches in Murfreesboro, Tenn. will be played at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center
