DePaul Well Represented in Semifinals of Purdue Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The DePaul men's tennis team put together a strong showing on day two of the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
Junior David Vieyra won two matches today to advance to the semfinals of the Flight A singles pool. Vieyra won his quarterfinal match over Valparaiso's Jeffrey Schorsch (7-5, 7-6 (1)) to advance to the semis, where he downed IPFW's Daniel Kang, 7-5, 6-2. Vieyra will play Nadin Indre of Western Michigan tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.
In the Flight A consolation pool, Filip Dzanko beat Haydin Joblin (4-6, 6-4, (10-6)) and Jason Jaruvang, 6-3, 6-3, to advance to the semifinals, where he will face Sven Kranz Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
In the Flight B consolation pool, Jan-Willem Feilzer won two matches and will compete in the semifinal round tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.
Adam Reinhart advanced to the semis of the Flight C singles bracket after defeating Purdue's Evan Hawkins (7-5, 5-7, 6-2) and Iowa's Nils Hallestrand, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. He will face Ricardo Pinedo of Wright State at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Finally, Dzanko and Vieyra advanced to the semifinals of the Flight A doubles bracket by winning two matches Saturday afternoon. They will play tomorrow at 8 a.m.
Both the semifinal and championship rounds will take place Sunday in West Lafayette.
