DePaul and Providence Clash on Sunday at McGrath-Phillips Arena

CHICAGO - The DePaul women's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Sunday when it welcomes Providence to McGrath-Phillips Arena. The 2 p.m. clash between the Blue Demons and Friars will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago with Dave Bernhard and Trish Babcock McGraw on the call.

DePaul (14-6, 6-2 BIG EAST) is coming off a 96-71 victory over Creighton on Friday. The Blue Demons were paced by Brittany Hrynko's 27 points and three other starters finished in double-figures.
DePaul's 96 points marks the 11th time this season the Blue Demons have eclipsed the 90-point mark. The team leads Division I with its 89.8 scoring average while four players are averaging double figures.
On the season, Hrynko paces the Blue Demons 19.9 points per game which is second in the BIG EAST. The senior guard leads the league with 22.6 points against conference opponents.
Jessica January, Megan Podkowa and Chanise Jenkins are also averaging double-digits. Podkowa - a proficient shooter - ranks second in the BIG EAST with her .541 field goal percentage. Hrynko is ninth in field goal percentage and Jenkins ranks 12th.
Providence (5-14, 2-6 BIG EAST), snapped a seven-game losing streak with its 66-58 win at Marquette on Friday.
The Friars have been without the services of their leading scorer, Tori Rule the last four games. Rule was averaging 13.7 points and led the team at the free throw line (23-of-24) and was Providence's top 3-pointer shooter.
In Rule's absence, Alexis Ferris leads the Friars with 11.9 points per game and is grabbing 7.1 rebounds. Chanise Baldwin leads Providence with 7.2 rebounds per outing.
DePaul and Providence are meeting for the 14th time on Sunday and the Blue Demons lead the all-time series 9-4. DePaul has won four of the last six contests and the Blue Demons are 6-0 all-time in games played at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Following Sunday's game, the Blue Demons stay in Lincoln Park and host Georgetown and Villanova on Jan. 30 and Feb. 1, respectively.
