Men's Tennis Beats Chicago, Moves to 2-0

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's tennis team knocked off the University of Chicago, 6-1, on Friday evening to improve to 2-0 overall.
DePaul will aim for a 3-0 start on Sunday against IUPUI.
The Blue Demons got the night started with a pair of doubles victories to take a 1-0 lead in the match. In No. 1 doubles, Jan-Willem Feilzer and David Vieyra beat Deepak Soboda and David Liu, while Nathan de Veer and Alex Galoustian defeated Sven Kranz and Max Hawkins, 6-2, in No. 3 doubles.
In singles, DePaul got wins in it's 1-5 slots, starting with Sten Leusink's 6-3, 7-6 (4) win over Nick Chua. De Veer beat Soboda in the No. 2 spot, 7-6 (2), 6-2, and Kyle Johnson earned a three-set victory over Kranz in the No. 3 slot, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Vieyra won a 7-6 (3), 6-1 match at No. 4 singles over Peter Leung and Galoustian beat Liu, 6-2, 6-4, to cap the match.
DePaul continues its season Sunday with a 2:15 p.m. contest at home against IUPUI.
