Men's Tennis Prepares for Weekend Doubleheader

CHICAGO- The DePaul men's tennis team is set to host Creighton and Butler this weekend for a pair of conference matchups on the courts of the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Center. The Blue Demons meet Creighton on Saturday, Apr. 16 followed with a match against Butler on Apr. 17. Both matches begin at 2:15 p.m. CT.
DePaul (7-13, 2-0 BIG EAST) looks to add to extend its undefeated BIG EAST record after clinching a 4-3 win over Xavier last weekend.
Sten Leusink and Nathan de Veer led DePaul with wins in singles and doubles action.
As a result, de Veer was named BIG EAST Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
Creighton (6-8, 0-2 BIG EAST) has dropped its last four outings. The Bluejays are led by junior Harrison Lang who has recorded an 8-6 record at No. 3 singles.
Before facing the Blue Demons, Butler (9-9, 0-0 BIG EAST) visits Marquette for its first BIG EAST match of the spring season. The Bulldogs come into the contest winning five of their last six matches.
Saturday's match between DePaul and Creighton is the third meeting between the two programs. The Blue Demons look to improve to 3-0 against the Bluejays.
On Sunday, DePaul and Butler square off for the 10th time. The Blue Demons lead the series 6-3.
After this weekend, DePaul closes out its last regular season of competition at home on Saturday, Apr. 23 against Marquette at 2:15 p.m.
