Golf to Host John Dallio Memorial

CHICAGO -- The DePaul golf team open its 2016 fall season on Sept. 19-20 when it hosts the John Dallio Memorial Tournament at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. The Blue Demons welcome 12 teams to Lemont, Ill. For a three-round, two-day event.
Monday will feature a 7 a.m. start on holes one and 10 and two rounds of golf. On Tuesday, golfers will be assigned tee times based on team standings and the final round begins at 8 a.m.
DePaul welcomes Bradley, Creighton, Detroit, Drake, Green Bay, IUPUI, Loyola, Omaha, Nicholls, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and Oakland, while individuals from Iowa will also participate in tournament.
The annual tournament is named after former DePaul student-athlete, golfer John Dallio, who lost his courageous battle with glioblastoma, a deadly brain tumor on Oct. 6, 2003. A member of the Blue Demons from 1997-2001, Dallio earned a degree from DePaul in Finance and worked in the Blue Demon athletic department for two years.
Ruffled Feathers GC, the home of DePaul golf, features a par-72 layout over 6,898 yards in Lemont, Ill.
A year ago, the Blue Demons claimed the team title with a score of 894 (+30) over runner up Missouri-St. Louis's performance of 916 (+52). Lewis placed third with their team total of 927 (+63) and Florida Gulf Coast totaled 932 (+68) for a fourth place finish. Returner Green Bay looks to better its total of 934 (+70).
Golf continues the fall slate Sept. 25 and 26 at the Windon Memorial Classic, followed by a trip to Louisiana for the LSU David Toms Intercollegiate on Oct. 8-9. The Blue Demons then head east for the Georgetown Intercollegiate on Oct. 17-18. DePaul will round out the fall with the David Miller Collegiate Invitational in Mobile, Ala. on 10/29-10/30.
The Blue Demons will resume play with Earl Yestingsmeier Match in February to begin a busy 2017.
