DePaul wins the John Dallio Memorial Tournament

LEMONT, Ill. - The DePaul golf team began the 2016-17 season by capturing its second-straight John Dallio Memorial Tournament title on Tuesday at Ruffled Feather Golf Club. The Blue Demons topped Bradley by 3 strokes to finish at the top of the team standings. Freddy Thomas finished second overall to lead the Blue Demons who had four golfers finish in the top 20.
Freddy Thomas finished one over for the round and carded three birdies on the back nine to secure second place. Freddy Thomas carded rounds of 76, 69 and 73 and finished two-strokes behind Bradley's Ethan Brue who captured medalist honors.
James Lelliott, Jonathan Hewett and Bobby Thomas all joined Freddy Thomas in the top 20.
Lelliott finished tied for sixth while Hewett tied for 14th. Lelliott carded an eight-over, 80 in Tuesday's final round. Hewett recorded a seven-over (79) for the day.
Bobby Thomas turned in a pair of four-overs (76) in the second and third rounds to finish tied for 20th.
Playing as an individual, Jonathan Goldstein tied for 31st with rounds of 77, 79 and 77.
Charlie Spencer-White tied for 37th and rounded out DePaul's top five golfers. Kyle Vincze, who was playing as an individual, tied for 46th while Ronnie Griggs and Fredrik Eineren finished 72nd and 74th respectively.
DePaul (893) won the team title by three strokes and was plus-29 for the tournament. Bradley (896) took second place and North Dakota State (905) was third. Northern Iowa (915) and Oakland (917) rounded out the top five.
DePaul gears up for the Windon Memorial Classic hosted by Northwestern, Sept. 25-26.
