CHICAGO - For the second week in a row, the BIG EAST Conference has recognized standout performances from DePaul's Brooke Schulte.
On Monday, Schulte started out the New Year being named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after averaging 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading No. 22 DePaul to a 76-53 victory at Georgetown and an 80-50 win at Villanova.
Against a Georgetown team that was receiving votes in the Associated Press poll, Schulte notched her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She also added four assists and one steals.
The senior guard followed up that performance with a game-high 23 points along with seven rebounds and three assists against the Wildcats. She led the Blue Demons to their fourth win in a row with her fourth consecutive game in double figures.
Last week, Schulte was honored as the BIG EAST Player of the Week after she scored a career-high 27 points in just 26 minutes of play during a 100-68 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Dec. 20.
DePaul (10-4, 2-0) opposes Providence (9-4, 1-1) at 8 p.m. Monday at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
