BIG EAST Showdown: No. 23/21 DePaul vs. Creighton

CHICAGO - No. 23/21 DePaul looks to extend its winning streak to six games when it confronts talented Creighton on Wednesday in a showdown of the two teams picked to win the BIG EAST regular-season title by the conference coaches. The Blue Demons and Bluejays tip at 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network which can be accessed at foxsportsgo.com. DePaul (11-4, 3-0 in the BIG EAST) is coming off a 61-56 comeback victory over a stubborn Providence ball club on Monday night in which Brooke Schulte made her first five shots en route to scoring a game-high 23 points. It was her fifth-straight game scoring in double figures.
The Blue Demons are off to a fast start in the conference season after capturing the last three regular-season titles and sporting a 49-8 BIG EAST record in that span. They also won the conference tournament in 2014 and 2015.
Coach Doug Bruno's team is No.2 in the nation in assists, assist/turnover ratio and three-point baskets. DePaul is No. 3 in assists per game, No. 4 in three-point field goals per game and three-point attempts, No. 12 in scoring offense and No. 13 in rebounds.
Jessica January is No. 17 in the country in assists per game and No. 18 in total assists. January & Co. lead the BIG EAST in scoring offense, scoring margin, assists, assist/turnover ratio, turnover margin, three-point field goals per game and rebounding offense.
Creighton (9-4, 3-0) is riding a five-game winning streak behind Audrey Faber (14.4 points per game), Brianna Rollerson (11.3) and Marissa Janning (11.1) who combine for nearly 37 points a game.
After the showdown with Creighton, the Blue Demons head east to take on Seton Hall on Sunday and St. John's on Jan. 10.
