Dayton Flyer Invite on Deck for Golf

CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team continues its fall schedule at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Sunday and Monday. The three-round, two-day event will be played at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
All 54 holes will be played in NCR Country Club's South Course which hosted the 2005 U.S. Senior Open. The course is set up as a par 71 over 7,055 yards. Both days feature an 8:45 a.m. ET shotgun start.
The field features DePaul and host Dayton along with Cleveland State, Eastern Michigan, Fort Wayne, Illinois State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Ohio State and Wright State. The tournament schedule opens with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Live scoring is available throughout the tournament at BirdieFire.com.
Joe McCarthy has led the team in the first two of three events this season that included a tie for seventh in his first collegiate event at the NKU Fall Classic. His scoring average of 73.11 leads the team and is followed by Freddy Thomas (74.44) and Bobby Thomas (74.67). Freddy Thomas was the top performer in DePaul's last event with a tie for 22nd at the Fighting Irish Classic.
The Dayton Flyer Invitational is the final tournament of the fall schedule as the Blue Demons wrap up competition on Oct. 30 against Loyola in a match play event.
