Campbell Chosen BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

CHICAGO - Kelly Campbell has made her presence felt in her first season, and on Monday, the sharp-shooting guard was honored as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.
It was the second time this season Campbell has been singled out for having the best rookie performance in the conference.
On Sunday, Campbell stuffed the box score with 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals with just one turnover in No. 19/15 DePaul's 96-81 loss at Marquette. The eight rebounds matched her season high.
Campbell shot 6-of-11 from the floor (.545) and was 2-for-5 from three-point range in 37 minutes. She becomes the fifth rookie to earn multiple Freshman of the Week awards.
In addition, teammate Brooke Schulte was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after finishing with 26 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday.
It was the ninth week in a row Schulte has been recognized with a weekly award including a league-leading five times as BIG EAST Player of the Week. It was also her eighth double-double of the season---all in BIG EAST play.
DePaul (22-6, 14-2) closes out the regular season with a Friday night game against Villanova and a Sunday matinee against Georgetown. Both games will be at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
