Blue Demons Head to San Diego

CHICAGO - DePaul softball travels to San Diego to take on the University of San Diego on Tuesday, March 21 at 1:30 p.m. Central time at the USD Sports Complex.

The Blue Demons (13-11) close out their time on the west coast against San Diego after finishing 2-3 at the Loyola Marymount Tournament over the weekend in Los Angeles.
DePaul's two victories at the tournament came against Dartmouth and Loyola Marymount. In those two games, the squad outscored the Big Green and Lions 18-9.
Over the span of the five games in Los Angeles, Morgan Greenwood finished with a .364 batting average to lead DePaul. She went 11-for-4 at the plate, notching a double and RBI. Nicole Pihl finished with four hits, three runs and four RBI. She was one of three Blue Demons to record a home run over the weekend.
Scouting San Diego (11-12):
The Toreros went 2-1 last weekend in a series against CSU Bakersfield at home. Taylor Spence leads the squad with a .427 batting average and boasts 18 runs on the season. Spence and Sara Silveyra own 10-game hitting streaks. Delaney Heller leads the pitching staff with four wins, two saves and an ERA of 2.92.
