Blue Demons Set for FAU Slomin Autism Championship

CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team wraps a week in Florida for Spring Break with the FAU Slomin Autism Championship this weekend. The three-round, three-day event starts Friday on the Squire Course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
DePaul's lineup this weekend includes James Lelliott, Jonthan Hewett, Freddy Thomas, Jonathan Goldstein and Garret Buckley. Charlie Spencer-White is also competing as an individual.
A total of 13 schools will be at PGA National with host Florida Atlantic and DePaul joined by UCF, Connecticut, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Hartford, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Illinois, Southern Miss and Stetson. A year ago, the Blue Demons finished in a tie for fourth place at the event.
Friday's shotgun start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. ET starting on the 10th hole and the Blue Demons are paired up with Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown and Northern Illinois. Thomas leads DePaul this season with a scoring average of 73.8. He is followed by Buckley with an average of 74.0 and Hewett's scoring average of 74.2.
