Blue Demons Finish Up at Milwaukee Tennis Classic

MILWAUKEE ââ'¬" DePaul men's tennis finished up at the 42nd annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Friday when Boris Spanjaard dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Brett Forman of Michigan State.
Spanjaard had qualified for the main draw on Thursday with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Jason Koenen of Michigan State and topping Alvaro Verdu of Marquette 6-2, 6-2 in his qualifying round final.
The Blue Demons' doubles team of Alex Galoustian and Christopher Casati won their first qualifying match on Thursday, but came up short in a loss to Carlo Donato and Mitch Harper of Virginia Tech in their bid to qualify for the main draw.
Galoustian won his opening singles qualifier 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 over Robert Krill of Wisconsin Thursday before dropping his final qualifying match 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to Micah Klousia of Nebraska.
DePaul returns to the courts Oct. 7 for the two-day Valparaiso (Ind.) Invitational.
