DePaul finds success on final day of Roberta Alison Fall Classic
TUSCALOOSA Ala. – The final day of the 2018 Roberta Alison Fall Classic at Alabama saw DePaul come away with some doubles success before heading back to Lincoln Park.
In their final doubles match of the 21-team tournament, Marija Jovicic and Aspasia Avgeri walked off the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility court with a 6-4 victory over Michelle McKamey and Somer Henry of Indiana in the consolation bracket.
Also in the consolation bracket, with Keisha Clousing's doubles partner Milica Tesic unable to compete, Clousing was paired with Samford's Holly Horsfall. The mixed doubles team clicked immediately with a 7-5 win over Tingting Pei and Maria Casas Blas in an unofficial result.
In singles play, Jovicic won her consolation match in a walkover against Melissa Roberts of Michigan State.
Clousing came up short in an extremely tight match 7-6 (5), 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) against TJ Fumagalli of the Air Force in a consolation title showdown.
In another consolation final, Avgeri fell 6-3, 6-2 to Melissa Pick of Wisconsin. Her Badger teammate Christina Zordani won a consolation match against Tesic in a walkover.
