Fast Start for Djokic at Notre Dame Invitational

Freshman won doubles match and led in singles until injury led to a forfeit
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Hristina Djokic was on the verge of having a splendid opening performance for DePaul Friday at the Notre Dame Invitational.
The Blue Demon freshman teamed with sophomore Marija Jovicic to deliver a 6-4 doubles victory over Emma DeCoste and Andrea Ballinger of Ohio State on day one of the competition at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
Djokic followed that up with a fast start in her singles match, beating Notre Dame's Cameron Corse 6-4 in the first set and leading 4-1 in the second.
But before she could put the finishing touch on a nice singles win, Djokic was injured and had to forfeit the match.
Elsewhere in singles, Blue Demon senior Keisha Clousing battled Notre Dame's Ally Bojczuk for three sets before falling 6-4, 5-7, 6-1.
On Saturday, coach Mark Ardizzone's team will begin doubles play at 9 a.m. followed by singles matches against players from Tennessee and Ohio State.
