Blue Demons Finish Fall Season with Two Victories

DePaul wins singles match and doubles match at Notre Dame Invitational
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The DePaul women's tennis team took home two victories on the final day of the Notre Dame Invitational.
In singles, Alina Kuzmenkova won her second match of the tournament on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Gabby Schuck of Tennessee.
On Saturday, the Blue Demon sophomore had topped Minnesota's River Hart.
In doubles, the DePaul duo of Keisha Clousing and Marija Jovicic edged Tina Kreinis and Caitlyn Merzbacher of Minnesota 7-6.
Also in singles, both Jovicic and Maddie Yergler went to a third set before coming up short.
Yergler dropped a hard-fought 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 decision to Andrea Ballinger of Ohio State. Jovicic lost the first set to Tennessee's Tenika McGiffin 6-3 only to bounce back in a big way with a 6-0 whitewashing in the second set. The Blue Demon sophomore lost the decisive set 6-1.
Sunday wraps up the DePaul fall season, and coach Mark Ardizzone's program begins the dual-match season Jan. 19 at Purdue.
