NORMAL, Ill. ââ'¬" While Saturday featured wind and rain at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate, Sunday's weather descended to wind and snow flurries as DePaul completed the final round. Freddy Thomas and Charlie Spencer-White led the Blue Demons during the weekend.
Thomas finished in a tie for 61st and Spencer-White was in a group in 67th place. Thomas finished with a tournament score of 233 (+20) following a 78 (+7) on Sunday while Spencer-White was one shot behind at 234 (+21) after a 77 (+6) in the third round.
Kyle Vincze carded a 75 (+4) in his third round for a 54-hole total of 236 (+23) and Joe McCarthy was tied for 74th with a score of 237 (+24) following a 76 (+5) in his final round. Garret Buckley turned in the best round of the weekend by a Blue Demon with a 74 (+3) on Sunday. Buckley finished with a tournament score of 245 (+32) in 89th place.
Duke led the field with a team score of 871 (+19) and DePaul finished 17th with a team score of 936 (+84). Three players finished in a tie for first with scores of 217 (+4) between Wisconsin's Griffin Barela and Duke's Chandler Eaton and Adam Wood.
Up next for the Blue Demons is the Hawkeye Invitational on April 14-15 in Iowa City, Iowa.
