
Spencer-White, McCarthy Finish in Top 10

CALLAWASSIE ISLAND, S.C. - DePaul junior Charlie Spencer-White and freshman Joe McCarthy posted top 10 finishes as the BIG EAST Championship concluded on Tuesday at Callawassie Island Club. As a team, the Blue Demons finished third marking their third top-three finish in the last four years.
Spencer-White finished in a tie for sixth after shooting a 75 (+3) on Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 220 (+4). McCarthy followed in a group in eighth following a 72 (E) that gave the freshman a tournament score of 223 (+7).
The duo marked the second straight year with two Blue Demons in the top 10 and the third time for DePaul in BIG EAST Championship play. In 2017, Jonathan Hewett finished sixth and Garret Buckley was ninth.
Buckley posted a top 20 finish in a tie for 18th just behind Freddy Thomas in a group in 16th place. Thomas finished the tournament at 228 (+12) following a 77 (+5) in the third round while Buckley carded a 74 (+2) to total 229 (+13) for the event.
Kyle Vincze rounded out the action for DePaul and finished in 42nd place. He posted a 78 (+6) on his third circuit to finish the tournament with a score of 247 (+31).
Georgetown won its second title in three years by three shots over second-place Marquette. The Hoyas recorded a team total of 884 (+20) ahead of the Golden Eagles' score of 887 (+23). DePaul finished third with a score of 900 (+36) and Seton Hall was fourth at 902 (+38). Individually, Marquette's Hunter Eichhorn won medalist honors with a tournament score of 214 (-2).
