Track & Field Travels to Illini Classic

DePaul track & field look to build upon personal-bests set last meet
CHICAGO – Continuing to make their mark on the regular season, the men's and women's track & field teams will stay in-state for their competitions at the Illini Classic in Champaign, Ill. Field events will have first-throw at 10:00 a.m. and the first races are scheduled for a 11:40 a.m. start at the UI Armory.
Competing in the meet will be in-state rivals, SIUE, Illinois State and Western Illinois joined by city-rival UIC and neighboring institutions Milwaukee, Indiana State and Louisville. These teams will be joined by the Fighting Illini who will be hosting the event.
Last Year
Hurdler Alexia Brooks tied the school record in the 60-meter hurdles clocking in a time of 8.56 in the preliminary round. In the finals, she set the record at 8.51. Fellow hurdler Kyle Decker finished third on the men's side coming in at 8.30 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Continuing Success
Isaac Jimenez, Chris Cadet and Ben Litwin look to build upon their success in the throwing events. Last week at the John Gartland Invite, all three throwers placed personal-best performances in the weight throw competition.
