DePaul Battles Providence to 0-0 Draw

CHICAGO - DePaul battled Providence for 110 minutes on Thursday evening to a 0-0 double overtime draw at Chapey Field in Providence, R.I. The Blue Demons and Friars both move to 2-1-1 in conference play.
DePaul and Providence seemed to split control of the ball through the first half, but the Blue Demons came out on fire in the second, putting up eight shots total. Despite the efforts, neither team would find the back of the net by the end of regulation.
Over the two overtime periods, DePaul would outshoot the Friars 11-0 but only forced Providence keeper Shelby Hogan to make one save during the 20 minutes.
Overall, the Blue Demons outshot Providence 22-8 on the night and earned 10 corners to the Friars five. Kristin Boos lead the offensive attack with eight total shots, two on goal, with Morgan Turner and Brooke Weitzel firing off four and three shots respectively. Keeper Mollie Eriksson netted three saves against the Friars.
Hannah McNulty lead Providence with four shots on the night. Hogan would notch four saves against DePaul.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Villanova currently sits at 5-4-3 and 1-1-1 in conference play. Brice McInroy's five goals lead the team and with her one assist has 11 points so far this season. Chloe O'Neill has dished out four assists. The goalkeeping duties have been split between Rebecca Gartner and Hensley Hancuff. Gartner has played seven games, picked up 35 saves and two shutouts while Hancuff has made 22 saves and picked up three shutouts in her six games in goal.

DePaul also holds a one game advantage over Villanova, 8-7-1 in a series that dates back to 2005. The Blue Demons have won eight straight games against the Wildcats, including a 1-0 victory last season at Wish Field.
