Another Splendid Performance for Men's Tennis

Blue Demons Top Notre Dame and Wichita State Saturday at Gopher Invitational
MINNEAPOLIS – It was another winning day for the DePaul men's tennis team on Saturday at the Gopher Invitational.
The tournament setup also known as the Davis Cup format has doubles teams competing in one draw. Each match consists of a set of doubles and two singles matches with each result worth one point in best-of-three scoring.
After taking a 1-0 lead over Notre Dame courtesy of a doubles win, Luuk Wassenaar and Tripp Tuff came through with singles victories for a 3-0 triumph.
Wassenaar topped Andrew Mariados 6-1, 6-3 and his partner Tuff duplicated that result with a 7-5, 6-1 win over the Fightin' Irish's Conor Somers.
Not to be outdone, Boris Spanjaard and Christopher Casati emerged with a 3-0 sweep of Wichita State.
The DePaul duo took an early 1-0 lead after Friday's 6-4 doubles win. On Saturday, Spanjaard kept the momentum going with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Rafael Serra. Casati followed suit with a 7-5, 6-4 decision over Zach Grueber.
In another doubles match, Spanjaard and Casati teamed up for a 6-3 win over Kaleb Dobbs of Minnesota and Ignacio Crespo of Denver.
