BIG EAST Honors Stonewall for Fourth Time This Season

Versatile senior standout earns another BIG EAST Honor Roll selection
CHICAGO – As the point person on the BIG EAST's most devastating full-court press, DePaul's Chante Stonewall was honored again by the conference on Monday.
After her 20 points and five steals led No. 16/16 DePaul to an 89-71 victory over Marquette Sunday in the league opener, Stonewall headed up the BIG EAST Honor Roll. It was the fourth time this season she has been recognized with one of the conference's top-six performances of the week.
The versatile 6-foot, 1-inch forward has been at the point of attack pressuring opponents all season while also sprinting back to anchor the Blue Demons' frontcourt interior defense. Her baseline-to-baseline efforts have sparked DePaul to an 11-2 record with the only losses coming to No. 1/1 Connecticut and No. 3/3 Oregon State.
In the last six games, Stonewall & Co. have forced a total of 153 turnovers for an average of 25.5 per game. The lowest number of turnovers forced in that span came against top-ranked Connecticut which coughed up the ball 21 times.
In addition to heading up the defense along with fellow co-captain Kelly Campbell, Stonewall leads the team in scoring at 18.2 points per game and leads the BIG EAST in field goals and steals.
Creighton's Jalyn Agnew is the BIG EAST Player of the Week after scoring 20 of her game-high 23 points in the second half in rallying the Bluejays from a 14-point deficit to win at Georgetown on Sunday. In the explosive final 20 minutes, Agnew was 7-of-12 from the field---including a trio of triples---to collect her fourth 20-point outing of the season. It was Agnew's third BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season.
Villanova's Maddy Siegrist picks up her fifth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week certificate after tying the game high with 18 points in a conference-opening win over Providence on Sunday. The redshirt freshman maintained her hold on the BIG EAST scoring lead averaging 21.6 points per game.
DePaul returns to action on Friday with a 5:30 p.m. game at Providence that will be televised by FS2.
