DePaul Takes Hawaii Tournament Championship over New Mexico

The Blue Demons took down New Mexico to go 5-0 in Hawaii Tournament play.
Krista Dalgarn threw her sixth win on the mound this season, holding the Lobos to only four hits and two runs.
New Mexico got on the board with one run in the first inning but DePaul quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning. Angela Scalzitti singled to right field and Maranda Gutierrez was walked. Jessica Cothern stepped up to the plate to blast her second home run of the season and lift DePaul into a 3-1 lead.
New Mexico would score their final run in the fourth inning.
Leading by one, DePaul added on an insurance run in the sixth to make the final mark of the game. Kate Polucha doubled to right center and advanced to third on a throwing error by the UNM catcher. Alysia Rodriguez blasted a double deep into center field to score Polucha.
