The annual meet will honor the program's 21 seniors

CHICAGO – The DePaul track & field team welcomes competition to Lane Stadium this weekend for the DePaul Invitational. Chicago State and UIC join the Blue Demons in the competition scheduled to start Saturday morning.

The men's and women's javelin throw will kick off the competition at 9:30 a.m. Running events are slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. with the women's 4x100-meter relay, followed by the men. A Senior Day ceremony recognizing the 21 cross country and/or track & field graduating class will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday's meet will conclude with the 4x400-meter relay at 2:25 p.m.

For the women, this is the final home meet for Alexia Brooks, Laura Edwards, Emily Eller, Jessica Harris, Caroline Kurdej, Dylan Marshall, Sydnee Matthew, Caroline Muller, Jade Nolan, Sabrina Olsen, Miranda Rea and Jessica Watkins. For the men, it serves as the final home competition for Chris Cadet, Noah Deck, Kyle Decker, Will Hauser, Kyle Hedge, Isaac Jimenez, Daniel Peterson, Andrew Rocco and Isaac Walker.

Record-Setting Class
Honoring one of the most accoladed senior classes in program history, the groups welcome four BIG EAST weekly accolades, 26 appointments to the All-Conference Teams and 25 BIG EAST Individual Championships.

Setting new records, Kyle Decker holds the school records in the men's indoor 60-meter hurdles. He is joined in the indoor record books by teammates Alexia Brooks who also holds the record in the 60-meter hurdles. In the triple jump, Jade Nolan holds the top mark along with Caroline Muller in the high jump and Sydnee Matthew in the pentathlon.

Brooks also goes down in program history for her outdoor campaign mark in the 100-meter hurdles. The Evanston native is joined by Jade Nolan in the triple jump Caroline Muller in the high jump and Emily Eller in the shot put competition. Muller and Nolan set the new records earlier this year.

The group of seniors were part of program-best conference finishes including a first place BIG EAST Indoor and Outdoor Championship for the men's program in 2016-17. The women had a remarkable runner-up finish in the 2017-18 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship.

Not only marking success on the track, the women's squad earned the league's highest GPA during the 2015-16 campaign.
