DePaul Drops a 4-1 Decision to St. John's

Blue Demons hit the road next weekend for final BIG EAST matches

CHICAGO -- The comeback magic wasn't quite in the air on Saturday night for the DePaul women's tennis team as the St John's Red Storm edged the Blue Demons 4-1.

DePaul (6-11, 4-2 BIG EAST) fell behind early and couldn't bounce back as St John's improved to 10-6 overall and 4-2 in BIG EAST action.

Despite Keisha Clousing and Lenka Anonijevic's win at No. 1 over Jessica Livianu and Najah Dawson, the Johnnies took the doubles point behind wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

Aspasia Avgeri clinched the only singles match for DePaul as the junior took down Olaya Inclan Solis 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot.

The Red Storm went on to win at No. 3, No. 4 and, No. 5 to clinch the match.

The Blue Demons honored seniors Keisha Clousing and Milica Tesic following the match as Saturday marked their last match at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness.

DePaul will make their final preparations before the BIG EAST Championship when the Blue Demons travel to Omaha, Neb. next weekend for BIG EAST matches against Creighton and Villanova.
