DePaul Falls Short Against Vermont Sunday
9/1/2019 3:23:00 PM | MEN'S SOCCER
CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer fell to Vermont 1-0 on the final day of the Chicago Classic at Wish Field on Sunday.
The Blue Demons came out stronger and stuck to their game plan, but couldn't find the back of the net in a chippy contest against the Catamounts.
Vermont scored in the 50th minute off a corner kick that was questioned by DePaul coaches and players but nonetheless headed into the goal by Rasmus Tobinski to give the Catamounts the go-ahead goal.
Blue Demon keeper Drew Nuelle made two saves between the pipes. DePaul would fire off 11 total shots, five of them on goal. Sophomore Jake Fuderer put two on goal but both were saved by Catamount keeper Aron Runarsson.
