LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Demons came out stronger and stuck to their game plan, but couldn't find the back of the net in a chippy contest against the Catamounts. Vermont scored in the 50th minute off a corner kick that was questioned by DePaul coaches and players but nonetheless headed into the goal by Rasmus Tobinski to give the Catamounts the go-ahead goal.
Blue Demon keeper Drew Nuelle made two saves between the pipes. DePaul would fire off 11 total shots, five of them on goal. Sophomore Jake Fuderer put two on goal but both were saved by Catamount keeper Aron Runarsson.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
Western Michigan (1-1-0) has momentum coming off a 4-0 dominating victory over Niagara University. They fell to BIG EAST opponent Butler 2-1 in their regular season opener. The Broncos were picked to finish second in the 2019 MAC Preseason Poll after receiving 27 points including one vote to win the entire league. Last season, Western Michigan finished 11-6-3 and found themselves facing Akron in the Championship Match, eventually falling 3-0.
SERIES STUFF
This is the seventh time the two teams have met, with Western Michigan holding the advantage 3-1-2. Last season, DePaul defeated the then-No. 14 Broncos 1-0, giving head coach Mark Plotkin his first career victory.
