Track & Field Travels Downstate to Compete in Illini Invite

The Blue Demons look to continue success after setting two program records
CHICAGO – Continuing its indoor campaign, DePaul track & field travels downstate to the Illini Invitational at the UI Armory in Champaign, Ill. Field events for the Blue Demons will kick off at 10 a.m. with the weight throw. The 60-meter hurdles are slated to begin track events at 10:30 a.m.
The meet, hosted by the Fighting Illini, will see 11 teams compete including: Eastern Illinois, IUPUI, Milwaukee, UIC and others.
Last year at the event, Rebecca Chouinard (weight throw), Dominic Marshall (weight throw) and Ben Litwin (weight throw) set career-best performances. Dylan Marshall also threw a season best in the shot put competition.
At the first meet of 2020, the Blue Demons started off strong setting updating both the women's weight throw and men's mile records. Junior thrower Jade Gates earned her second DePaul program best with an impressive 18.92-meter distance. She currently holds the women's hammer throw title. On the men's side, freshman Ben Lee clocked a time of 1:19.34 in the 600-meter run that was good for gold and a new Blue Demon record.
Traveling for the men's squad is: Chris Ahlers, Babajide Bamgbose, Dominic Bruce, Kyle Casper, Ashton Colaire, Joe Davies, Julian Davis, Jaylen Grigsby, Henry Harper, Jules Gueguen, John Jesser, Shane Knanishu, Ben Lee, Ben Litwin, Charlie McIntyre, Dominic Marshall, Jason Montano, Alex Murray, Adam Nelson, Michael Parry, Tony Pavloski and Ryan Taylor.
The women's travel roster will be comprised of: Esther Aldana, Dylan Armstrong, Olivia Borowiak, Terece Brown, Ericka Burgess, Tori Carroll, Rebecca Chouinard, Lorie Cashdollar, Noelle DeJaynes, Lizzie De Joie, Maret Elgren, Jade Gates, Violet Harper, Margaret Hastings, Alexa Havon, Isabel Ingram, Alicia Jones, Kindle Miles, Mackenna Orie, Courtney Pickering, Talia Saleh and Bella Uscila.
