
DePaul Encounters Pair of Power Five Conference Opponents

Blue Demons take on Iowa Friday and Kansas State Saturday in Iowa City
CHICAGO – The Blue Demons women's tennis program will take on a pair of Power Five conference opponents this weekend in a rugged challenge at Iowa City.
DePaul (4-4) opens up on Friday against the Big Ten host Iowa Hawkeyes at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex with first serve at 5 p.m.
Coach Marisa Arce and her team return to the Tennis and Recreation Complex on Saturday for a neutral-court matchup against the Big 12's Kansas State beginning at noon.
Iowa is off to a 2-5 start in the dual-match season with wins over South Alabama and Marquette and setbacks to No. 7 Texas, Florida International, Texas Tech, Minnesota and Colorado.
Kansas State comes into the weekend with a 5-3 record with victories over Penn State, Wichita State, Missouri, North Texas and Arizona and losses to No. 5 Duke, Mississippi State and Washington.
Aspasia Avgeri leads DePaul with a singles record of 16-8 followed by Lenka Antonijevic and Yuliya Kizelbasheva with identical 13-7 singles marks. Antonijevic leads the way in the dual season with a 5-3 record.
Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva have also sparked in doubles with a team-best 17-8 overall record and 6-2 in the dual season. Marija Jovicic and Hristina Djokic are 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the dual season.
