
Blue Demons Begin Toughest Stretch of the Season

Starting Sunday, seven of last eight matches away from Lincoln Park
CHICAGO – Coach Marisa Arce and her Blue Demons are entering the toughest stretch of their schedule this weekend.
Beginning with Sunday's match at the Big Ten's Indiana with first serve at 9 a.m., DePaul (5-7) will play seven of their final eight regular-season matches away from Lincoln Park.
Indiana is off to a 9-5 start and is 6-2 on at the IU Tennis Center. The Hoosiers have racked up wins against Alabama-Birmingham, Xavier, Western Michigan, Navy, Eastern Michigan, Cornell, Cincinnati, Ball State and Penn State.
Their five losses have come to No. 20 Tennessee, No. 41 Northwestern, Alabama, Kentucky and Yale.
The Blue Demons are coming off a well-earned 4-3 victory over Xavier last Sunday that marked the first BIG EAST win for Arce in her first season at DePaul.
Yuliya Kizelbasheva has excelled in the dual-match season with a 7-4 record playing at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Overall, the freshman from Russia is 16-8.
Lenka Antonijevic is 6-5 in dual competition, competing primarily at No. 4 singles. Overall, Antonijevic is 17-9. Aspasia Avgeri will bring a 17-11 overall singles record into the IU Tennis Center playing at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Kizelbasheva and Antonijevic form the team's most potent tandem going 8-4 in duals and a sparkling 19-10 overall as the No. 1 doubles team.
Hristina Djokic and Marija Jovicic have compiled an impressive 7-2 dual record at No. 3 singles and they are 10-3 overall.
