Morris Earns Third BIG EAST Accolade of the Season

Selected to BIG EAST Honor Roll after 22-point performance against Villanova
CHICAGO – Sonya Morris began the week with her third conference accolade of the season.
The standout combo guard was selected to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, signifying she had one of the top six performances in the league last week.
Morris earned the BIG EAST Player of the Week honor on Dec. 28 and was named to the Honor Roll on Dec. 14.
The 5-foot, 11-inch junior led No. 20/22 DePaul to a 94-82 victory over Villanova last Monday with a team-high 22 points along with five rebounds and five assists.
She combined with teammates Darrione Rogers and Lexi Held to shoot a sizzling 12-of-22 (54.5 percent) from three-point range.
Morris leads the Blue Demons (6-3, 3-1 in the BIG EAST) in scoring at nearly 18 points a game and three-point accuracy at 38 percent. She is second in rebounds, assists and steals.
Villanova's Maddy Siegrist won the BIG EAST Player of the Week award while Connecticut's Paige Bueckers was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Morris and her teammates return to action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday for a BIG EAST matchup against St. John's at Wintrust Arena that will be televised nationally by FS2.
