DePaul Softball Announces 2021 Schedule

CHICAGO – DePaul head coach Tracie Adix-Zins announced the 2021 softball slate on Friday.

The Blue Demons will return to the field for the first time since March 8, 2020 when the season gets underway at the DePaul Dome Tournament in Rosemont, Ill. from Feb. 12-14. The field for the three-day event includes Loyola, Missouri – Kansas City, Western Illinois, Western Michigan and Valparaiso.

After opening weekend, DePaul will head south from Feb. 26-28 for five games in three days at the Coach B Classic hosted by Southern Illinois. The Blue Demons are set to face the host Salukis, Saint Louis, Ball Sate and Austin Peay State.

The non-conference slate also features a midweek matchup against Northern Illinois on April 7 and a trip to Illinois State on April 13.

DePaul will add additional non-conference contests and those dates and matchups will be announced once finalized.

Eight consecutive weekends of BIG EAST competition begins on March 13-14 with a trip to the Empire State for a three-game series at St. John's. The Blue Demons will make their debut at Cacciatore Stadium the following weekend when Providence comes to town March 20-21.

Connecticut, Creighton and Seton Hall will visit Lincoln Park in 2021 while DePaul will travel to Georgetown, Villanova and Butler for Saturday doubleheaders and single game Sunday's.

The 2021 BIG EAST Softball Tournament is set for May 13-15 in Storrs, Conn. at the brand-new Burrill Family Field on the campus of the University of Connecticut. The NCAA Selection Show will be held on May 16 aired on ESPN.

The Blue Demons return 15 letterwinners from its 2020 squad that finished 8-12 after an abbreviated season due to COVID-19. Seven newcomers landed in Lincoln Park in September and will look to make an immediate impact for the three-time defending BIG EAST champions.
