Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva Open ITA Super Regional Play on Friday

DePaul doubles team competes in field of 16 at Columbus, Ohio
CHICAGO – A pair of Blue Demons will represent the DePaul women's tennis program this weekend after earning a berth in the ITA Super Regional being hosted by Ohio State.
The talented doubles team of Lenka Antonijevic and Yuliya Kizelbasheva overcame Michigan's doubles team 8-7 after five tiebreaks on Sept. 25 at the ITA Regional hosted by Illinois.
That comeback win advanced the DePaul duo into the quarterfinals and automatically qualified Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva for the Oct. 22-25 ITA Super Regional in Columbus, Ohio.
A total of 16 doubles teams will compete at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center on the Buckeyes' campus. Along with DePaul, Illinois, Michigan, Northwestern, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois State, UIC and Toledo have players competing in singles and doubles.
The tournament opens with two rounds of doubles on Friday with four teams advancing to Saturday's semifinals. The doubles championship match is set for Sunday.
The doubles champion and the singles finalists will qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships Nov. 4-7 in San Diego.
Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva come into the Super Regional with a 6-3 doubles record, winning six of their first seven matches of the season.
