Records Shattered, Victories Claimed at Blue Demon Holiday Invite

Walker breaks school record, four Blue Demons take individual event victories
CHICAGO - The DePaul track & field squads closed out the calendar year with a strong showing at the 2021 DePaul Holiday Invitational hosted at the Track & Field Center at Gately Park on Friday night.
Four different Blue Demons claimed individual event titles, while the women's 4x400m relay also took first place.
Tori Carroll took the title in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.79m, improving upon last week's leap of 5.60m at the Blue & Gold Invitational. Carroll followed up with a win in the 60m dash with a time of 7.53. Freshman Jetta Mays took third with a personal best of 7.57.
Kiersten Walker shattered an 11-year program record with a 39.17 time in the 300m dash followed up by a stellar performance as the anchor leg on the winning 4x400m relay team.
Senior Lorie Cashdollar set a personal best of 1:35.34 en route to the 600m title.
In the men's 60m hurdles, the Blue Demons landed a 1-2 punch with Darius Brown taking first and Ashton Colaire finishing second. Brown's mark of 8.08 set a new facility record and matched his personal best. Michael Stanley also set a facility record in the 300m with a time of 34.62 to finish second.
Jarel Terry represented DePaul in a strong manner in the 400m with a 48.95 finish to take second.
Isabel Ingram and Dylan Armstrong finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 60m hurdles. Ingram clocked a time of 8.78 while Armstrong finished in 8.83.
The field events saw multiple personal bests posted including Billie Martin's 16.95m distance in the weight throw to finish fourth. In the men's weight throw, Ben Litwin led the way with a 16.64m personal best to take seventh. Casey Mulvey took second in the shot put at 14.55m.
The Blue Demons closed the evening on a high-note with the 4x400m women's relay squad of Alyssa Leak, Lorie Cashdollar, Jade Pope and Kiersten Walker clocking a new facility record of 3:50.63 to finish first.
DePaul will return to action in 2022 when the Blue Demons travel to the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday, January 22.
