Blue Demons Continue Road Trip at St. John's

DePaul and St. John's meet at Carnesecca Arena after first meeting was postponed Jan. 2
CHICAGO – DePaul plays the second of three straight road games with a Saturday night BIG EAST matchup at St. John's. The game was originally scheduled for Jan. 2 before it was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols. The third and final road game is next Wednesday when DePaul travels to Creighton. The Creighton game is currently scheduled as the final road game of the regular season with the Blue Demons hosting Georgetown and Marquette at Wintrust Arena on Feb. 27 and March 2.
Saturday's game can be seen on FS1 starting at 7:30 p.m. ET with John Fanta (play-by-play) and Tarik Turner (analyst) handling the broadcast duties. The game can also be seen online at foxsports.com/live. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Dave Corzine (analyst) can be heard on WYLL (1160 AM) and online on DePaul All-Access at depaulbluedemons.com/live. St. John's enters the game at 14-8 overall and 8-7 in the BIG EAST after a 93-84 win against Xavier on Tuesday. The Blue Demons are 3-10 overall and 1-10 in the BIG EAST following a 60-52 loss at Seton Hall on Wednesday.
DePaul-St. John's Share Common Mission: DePaul and St. John's are two of four universities in the world founded by the Vincentians. DePaul, St. John's and Niagara were founded in the 19th century in the United States and Adamson University, located in Manila, Philippines, was acquired by the Vincentians in 1964.
All four schools are based on the Vincentian values of service, justice, charity and advocacy and provide a college education to many first-generation college students.
Return to Queens: DePaul's Pauly Paulicap and Ray Salnave are returning to where both played high school before starting their collegiate careers. Salnave played at Cardozo High School which is located just 3.4 miles from Carnesecca Arena while Paulicap's Elmont Memorial High School is a nine-mile drive.
Both are playing at DePaul as graduate transfers with Salnave graduating from Monmouth and Paulicap finishing his collegiate career with the Blue Demons after playing at Manhattan.
The Opponent – St. John's Red Storm: St. John's stands at 14-8 overall and 8-7 in the BIG EAST... the Red Storm has won seven of its last eight with the lone loss in overtime at Butler... Julian Champagnie leads the team with a scoring average of 19.8 points per game along with a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game... Posh Alexander adds 11.7 points per game while Greg Williams Jr. holds a scoring average of 9.6... head coach Mike Anderson is in his second season at St. John's...
