DePaul Softball Announces Addition Of Games, Time Changes

Blue Demons add five non-conference contests
CHICAGO – The DePaul softball program announced on Friday the addition of five non-conference matchups as well as a series of time changes for its season-opening Dome Tournament.

The Blue Demons are set to open the season on Friday, Feb. 12 as the hosts of the DePaul Dome Tournament in Rosemont, Ill. First pitch for contests on Saturday and Sunday have been moved up from the originally scheduled times.

DePaul will open the three-day event against Valparaiso at 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon followed by a meeting with the Broncos of Western Michigan at 4:45 p.m. Action resumes on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against Kansas City before a meeting with crosstown foe Loyola at 2 p.m. The Blue Demons will wrap up the weekend with an 11:30 a.m. contest against Western Illinois.
Head Coach Tracie Adix-Zins also announced the addition of five non-conference games to the 2021 slate, including matchups with two top-100 RPI teams from a year ago in Notre Dame and Louisville.Â

The Blue Demons will travel to Louisville, Ky. for a trio of games on March 6-7. DePaul will square-off against the Cardinals on March 6 at Noon before a meeting with Miami (OH) at 2:30 p.m. Before departing the Derby City, Adix-Zins and Co. will face the Redhawks at 11:30 a.m. on March 7.

Two midweek contests were added to the docket for March 31 at Loyola and April 21 at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish finished the abbreviated 2020 season ranked 23rd in the RPI and received votes in the Preseason USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll.
